For the past several months, as you’ve probably heard if you’ve been around us at all, or read this blog, Becky and I have been trying to cook more of our own food, eat more organics, and eat generally more healthily. That also has been kicked up a notch with our New Year’s Resolutions, and [...] Eating blackeyed peas on New Year’s Day reminded me that I needed to teach myself how to make my own…the good way…the way great-grandma used to make them when I was a kid. I’m sure these weren’t done the way she did it because I never watched her make them, but I was trying to [...] As part of our 2009 resolutions, we’ve been cooking more at home. Of course, when she showed it to me, I thought it sounded like a fantastic thing to do with our precious little monsters! She looked up the PetsMart website and today was the [...] Big Kitty is waiting impatiently for Santa to arrive. He keeps crawling under the tree, through all of the presents, and pops out the other side to peek out the window: Not too many days of waiting left, buddy! Ho ho ho! What could be better than a good steak? Becky sure knows how to make one! Done just right, with a good salsa verde topping. A crusty bread and some homemade breadcrumb topped mac & cheese on the side…mmmm. Ok, I think I’m done now. The last few days (and probably the next few days) have been a bit of a poultry overload. Thanksgiving will generally do that. We’ve been eating turkey and other assorted birds constantly since Wednesday…I think I might need to go somewhere and eat a cow or pig or fish sometime soon.
