We spent New Year’s Eve 2008 running around with the Graebers. First, Becky had to work, so I went with Brad & Mandy down to First Night Austin to see a 15 minute presentation of Hamlet under a bridge. It was pretty crazy…lots of fun! The encore was an under 2 minute performance, and the second encore was a 10 second performance. I shot video of the 2 encores…don’t know how good the video of the encores will turn out, but I’m uploading it and will post it in another entry shortly if it works out at all.
After wandering around First Night Austin for a while, we went back to our place to pick up Becky and ended up at Kenobi for sushi for dinner. Then headed over to Jason and Krit Williams place for a NYE party they were having. That should be about enough detail to figure out what’s going on in the following photos…
Well, first on this one, I dropped my Canon Digital Elph on the way out the door. It hit my shoe as I was trying to put it in my pocket and shot out over the balcony rail straight off the edge down a full story onto concrete below. I was pretty sure it was busted. It was just in a thin case. I opened the case and didn’t see any scratches. Turned it on and it seemed to be working. Took this picture:
And all was well! Lesson of the day…buy a decent camera and keep it in a case…and try not to be as clumsy as me! The rest of the photos were also shot with the same camera, so I guess I didn’t do too much damage…luckily… On to the photos
